NTPC Syllabus for CBT 1 Exam 2024

The RRB NTPC Syllabus 2024 for the first stage of the Computer-Based Test (CBT) is a comprehensive exam designed to assess candidates for various Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) posts. This stage of the CBT is common for all the posts notified under CEN 01/2019, and the test consists of three major sections: General Awareness, Mathematics, and General Intelligence and Reasoning. Below are the key details about the structure, syllabus, and important aspects of the exam.

Structure of 1st Stage CBT 1 Exam

The duration of the exam has been fixed at 90 minutes, during which candidates will have to answer a total of 100 questions, each carrying 1 mark. The questions are divided into three sections as follows:

  • General Awareness: 40 questions
  • Mathematics: 30 questions
  • General Intelligence and Reasoning: 30 questions
  • For candidates eligible under the PwBD category and accompanied by a scribe, the duration has been extended to 120 minutes.

The exam will also have negative marking, where 1/3 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer. The 1st Stage CBT is primarily a screening test, and the difficulty level of the questions will match the educational qualification required for the posts.

The marks obtained in the 1st Stage CBT will be normalized and used to shortlist candidates for the 2nd Stage.
